MISSION
Mountain Learning Center partners with families to provide quality academic support using a combination of Montessori and traditional teaching methods. A complementary relationship between the child, parent/guardian and guide is the cornerstone of my philosophy.
YOUR GUIDE
Founder, Cara Erbe, opened Mountain Learning Center in North Evergreen to provide the foothills and mountain communities with support using the Montessori curriculum in a safe and welcoming environment. With fourteen years of Montessori teaching experience and a commitment to the emotional and academic development of students, Cara is enthusiastic to guide homeschooling families and those who seek tutoring outside of school. Boasting a Master of Arts in Teaching and trained at both the Montessori Primary and Lower Elementary levels, she brings a wealth of knowledge and teaching strategies to help strengthen your child’s learning experience.
SERVICES
Mountain Learning Center offers homeschool support and academic tutoring in Math and Language for children in Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. Using a combination of Montessori and traditional teaching methods, Mountain Learning Center partners with families to provide a quality learning experience. A child’s individual needs are assessed prior to beginning learning sessions and the curriculum is delivered on a continuum until the end of the school year or, if tutoring, until the child’s academic goals are reached.

TUTORING SERVICES
Mountain Learning Center is here for your child after school too! If they are working on a math or language specific skill, but need one-on-one tutoring, I am here to help. I build skills and confidence utilizing a hands-on approach with Montessori materials and reading support models such as Orton-Gillingham based, Barton Reading & Spelling.

CURRICULUM
Your Guide will use the Montessori curriculum and materials to teach the following concepts:

Language Curriculum
Reading, writing, word studies, grammar, sentence analysis, research skills, etc.

Math Curriculum
Problem solving and analytical skills, numbers and numeration, the decimal system, place value and mathematical operations, fact work, multiples and factors, fractions, decimals, algebraic patterns, measurement, money, time, etc.
